Collaborating across five Yorkshire universities, The Yorkshire Consortium for Equity in Doctoral Education (YCEDE) is dedicated to widening access to postgraduate research for people of colour.
YCEDE has produced the YCEDE Toolkit for Equity in Doctoral Education to freely share our resources and learnings with the aim of inspiring and accelerating change. Some of the resources are aimed at PGR applicants and current PGRs, others are for staff involved in recruiting and supporting PGRs, or creating an anti-racist research culture.
YCEDE will be adding more materials over the course of 2025/26. Please email info @ycede.ac.uk if you have any comments or questions for the team.
Inclusive Research Network (LinkedIn)
Welcome to the Inclusive Research Network (previously the Student Research Network). The network was established in 2022 by the Yorkshire Consortium for Equity in Doctoral Education to address some of the barriers to under-representation of UK Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities in postgraduate research. Here we will share opportunities and information for those interested in studying a PhD to enhance research skills, networking events and details on PhD application and funding. We will be working with participants in the network to shape the programme and events. The network is set up as part of a collaborative project (Yorkshire Consortium for Equity in Doctoral Education) involving the Universities of York, Leeds, Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam and Bradford Universities.
