Boys Into Psychology

About 'Boys into Psychology'

Boys into Psychology aims to raise awareness of Psychology as a subject for the future, especially among boys. Participating in Boys into Psychology will introduce young males to Psychology, university students and higher education in an accessible way.

Psychology is a subject that typically appeals to middle-class, White females. Over 94% of the current Psychology UG cohort at the University of Leeds is female. Most applicants to Psychology at A level are already studying Psychology yet it is not an entry requirement.  It is a degree that can lead to a vast range of careers and not just for people who wish to become a psychologist.

What’s included in the Boys into Psychology programme?

Finally, the day shall end with a Dragon's Den-style workshop, in which students should develop their creative skills and knowledge from earlier in the day.
