Our Pre-16 Higher Education Experience Days give students in Years 8-11 the chance to spend a day on campus and explore how university could shape their future.

Post-16 Higher Education Experience Days
Our Post-16 Higher Education Experience Days help year 12 and 13 students deepen their understanding of university life and opportunities.
What's included:
- talks on key topics such as the application process, student finance, and preparing for competitive courses
- subject specific interactive workshops
- a guided campus tour
- an afternoon student panel sharing real experiences of the journey to university.
We can tailor sessions to suit your group's level and subject interests. We also work with schools to deliver subject taster sessions across a range of disciplines.

FAQs
Please be aware that we receive a high volume of requests from schools and colleges wishing to collaborate with us. As a result, we have recently reviewed the types of activity we are able to offer to schools and colleges, both locally and nationally, and are unable to accept every request but encourage schools to get in contact.
How many students can attend a visit?
The minimum number of students per visit is 15 and the maximum number is 50.
Will food be provided for the attendees?
We are unable to provide food for the attendees. Attendees are advised to bring a packed lunch and will have the opportunity to have lunch within our award winning students union.
Is transport provided?
We are unable to provide transport or funding for coach hire. For those travelling by coach, parking is not available on campus however there are designated areas in the city.
What are the typical timings of a Higher Education Experience Day?
The campus visit will typically start at 9:30am and finish at 2:30pm, however there is flexibility. If you would require different times, please discuss this with our Education Outreach team.
How much notice is required?
We kindly request that any schools wishing to visit the campus provide us with at least 8 weeks of notice due to demand and room availability. Please note that advance note does not guarantee availability. Each request will be checked individually in accordance with staff availability.
How much will it cost?
Our Higher Education Experience Days are free for schools and colleges. Please note we are unable to provide funding for transport.
When do the Higher Education Experience Days run?
Our Higher Education Experience Days typically run within University term time however we are open to suggestions for dates as long as the minimum 8 weeks notice is given.
