Who is it for?
Discover Geography is an outreach programme designed for Year 10 students currently studying GCSE Geography who are curious about where the subject can take them.
When selecting students to take part, we strongly encourage teachers to prioritise those who would benefit the most from this opportunity, such as students in receipt of Free School Meals, and those who are underrepresented in these subjects and at university.
Why take part?
Benefits of participating include:
- Geography exploration: Students will experience human and physical geography in action through interactive workshops, discovering how the subject applies to real-world issues.
- Insight into University: Raise aspirations by giving students a feel for university life and the learning environment, through taster sessions, a tour of campus and meeting current undergraduates.
- Making informed choices: Help students find out about future study options, career paths, and the skills geography can develop, helping students make confident decisions about studying Geography after their GCSEs.
