Physics Taster Day
Wednesday 8 July 2026
Join us on campus this summer for an exciting day of discovery, hands‑on science, and insight into what studying Physics or Astronomy at the University of Leeds is really like.
This free event is designed for students who are curious about the universe, fascinated by how things work, or considering a future in STEM.
What to Expect
Spend the day with our academics, researchers and current students as you:
- Explore real research in astrophysics, particle physics, quantum science and more.
- Take part in interactive workshops in our world‑class laboratories.
- Experience campus life, including a visit to our stunning Sir William Henry Bragg Building.
- Learn about physics degree options, careers, and the student experience at Leeds
The full programme will be shared with participants closer to the time, but activities typically include inspiring talks, practical lab sessions, and opportunities to ask questions about university life, admissions and pathways into physics careers.
